Hello beautiful people!
I hope this Monday is treating you as well as the weekend did! For me, it seems like as soon as Friday is starting--it's already Sunday! Luckily we managed to pack in quite a bit into the weekend and I'm here to share it with my favorite people! Nick Hakim + KING @ Motorco Music Hall
The weekend started with my first love: live music. If you've been with me for a while, you know that I currently reside in Atlanta, GA, so I'm nooot familiar with the music venue scene of North Carolina.
After we checked into the hotel, we took an Uber to Motorco Music Hall where a brooding Nick Hakim was mid-croon. The venue had a full scale bar, plenty of standing room space and limited tiered bleacher seating. For a Friday night, there was a moderate crowd so you had a good time, but weren't overly cramped. You can stream his EP on SoundCloud--checkout "Bet She Looks Like You" and "Where Will We Go?"
Next was the headliner: KING! We first heard about the trio on the Pandora app via a popular single called "Hey!" (available on iTunes HERE.) If asked to describe KING's sound using well known acts--I'd say they're a homogenous fusion of Brownstone and Prince. YUP. If you like their sound, you'll love their aura live and in person. Absolutely amazing set!
Pullen Park in Raleigh, NC
Saturday was sooo pretty! The leaves haven't started to change colors just yet, but there was a peppering of yellow and red trees among all the greenery, plus the weather was amazing. After brunch, we stopped by Pullen Park in Raleigh to people watch because: life is hilarious, duh. We even took pictures in the obviously blinding sun--haha! We still cute!
Popcorn Haven in Raleigh, NC
Last but not least, we visited Popcorn Haven in Raleigh near the Outlet Shops. I've never been to a gourmet popcorn shop in life, so I was a happy fat kid, y'all. I thought flavored popcorn was Boom Chicka Pop and that's it. Yo, they had sooo many flavors: Strawberry Cheesecake, Doritos Cool Ranch, Salt Water Taffy, Kit Kat, Snickers, Cotton Candy, Bacon & Roasted Tomato and their best-seller: Salted Caramel. I opted for the salty/sweet variety: Bacon & Roasted Tomato with Salted Caramel. So freaking good y'all!
That's my weekend in a nutshell! What fun did you dolls get into this weekend? Don't forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel for all things lifestyle and beauty!
